Purpose, meaning , relationship, responsibility

I am here to live my life with purpose and meaning. Being alive at this time is an incredible opportunity to explore and experience the Universe and myself. In a way, the self is the new frontier. I have come to know my limited self pretty well, and now I am getting to know my unlimited self.

My life purpose is unfolding each moment as I calm down and know that I am far more than my personality, problems, fears, or dis-eases.

I am spirit, light, energy, and love, and I have the power to live my life with meaning and purpose. I am doing the best I can and am constantly discovering new ways to improve the quality of my life. I am so grateful to be here. My purpose is to learn to love unconditionally.

My best relationship is the one I have with myself.

" Relationships are wonderful, and marriages can be wonderful, but they are all temporary because there comes a time when they end. The one person I am with forever is me. My relationship with myself is eternal, so I choose to be my own best friend. I choose to love and accept myself and to talk to myself as I would to a beloved person in my life. I saturate all the cells in my body with love, and they become vibrantly healthy. I know that I am always connected to a Universe that loves me. I draw loving people and loving experiences to me. I relate with love to all of life.I am creating lots of room for love. " -- Louise Hay

Responsibility brings power

"To be tested is good. The challenged life may be the best therapist."
-- Gail Sheehy

What holds you back from being all that you are?
( Exercise )

In your journal, list at least 5 things that hold you back.
Now review your answers.
Have you blamed people or factors outside of yourself?
It's important to understand that ALL obstructions are rooted in our internal blocks. Even the problems that appear to be outside of us are only reflecting back to us problems we have inside. Once we address our inner issues, the outer problems disappear.

Be personally accountable for everything in your life and watch your perspectives shift. We claim our power when we accept responsibility for our lives.

"Conscious evolution begins as we take responsibility
for clearing our own obstructions."
-- Dan Millman

Who am I ? Self definition .

When I started my training I was asked to write my autobiography.
Roberto Assagioli always asked his students to write their autobiography. not just once , but many times. This makes sense. We are constanty changing and so is the world around us.
The question " Who am I ?" is perhaps the most important one to ask on the journey of Self discovery , and of Self definition.

There are many ways to tackle this business of self definition.

Some questions to consider :

Which events do you identify with ?

Make a list adjectives to describe yourself.
This reveal polarities because for each adjective we use to describe ourselves there is an opposite which is also relevant.

What is you story ?

Useful to remember :

You are looking through the eyes of your story.
Feel the love that you are.
Do you feel unified or alienated ?

You have the right to be what you are.
You are the creator.
You are the choice .
You are limitless.

To change your story is to change your reality .
You are not your story.
Your story is your choice in the NOW .
You are the writer of your own story.
You are potentially all stories.
There is no story you cannot be.
You are an unfolding story .
You are an embodiment of God.

BEAUTY

What is BEAUTY to you ?

It is said that " beauty is in the eye of the heholder ". Each of us perceives it differently.

Beauty for me is like ART . When I see beauty in a person or word , or thought , or thing, abstract or in some form , my heart sings and my senses delight.

Beauty is love. Love is Beauty.

I am influenced by beauty . I don't think I could live without beauty - seeing beauty , perceiving beauty in the world around me.

Beauty inspires and transforms what I see into something meaningful for me.

Seeing the wonders of a flower or being touched by a painting.
Sometimes , as an exercise , I like to see if I can find beauty in something that I perceive as ugly. That is a challenge.

As I train myself to see beauty in everything, eventually I notice things in my everyday world that also inspire me.

By allowing myself to be influenced by the splendour of the world around me , allows the creative power of my imagination to flow freely and effortlessly .

Kahlil Gibran says :

And a poet said, Speak to us of Beauty. And he answered: Where shall you seek beauty, and how shall you find her unless she herself be your way and your guide? And how shall you speak of her except she be the weaver of your speech?
The aggrieved and the injured say, ‘Beauty is kind and gentle. ‘Like a young mother half-shy of her own glory she walks among us.' And the passionate say, ‘Nay, beauty is a thing of might and dread. ‘Like the tempest she shakes the earth be- neath us and the sky above us.’
The tried and the weary say, ‘Beauty is of soft whisperings. She speaks in our spirit. ‘Her voice yields to our silences like a faint light that quivers in fear of the shadow.’
But the restless say. ‘We have heard her shouting among the mountains, ‘And with her cries came the sound of hoofs, and the beating of wings and the roaring of lions.’
At night the watchmen of the city say, ‘Beauty shall rise with the dawn from the east. And at noontide the toilers and the way- farers say, ‘We have seen her leaning over the earth from the windows of the sunset.’
In winter say the snow-bound, ‘She shall come with the spring leaping upon the hills.’ And in the summer heat the reapers say, ‘We have seen her dancing with the autumn leaves, and we saw a drift of snow in her hair.' All these things have you said of beauty, Yet in truth you spoke not of her but of needs unsatisfied,
And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy. It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth, But rather a heart inflamed and a soul en- chanted. It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear, But rather an image you see through. you close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears. It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw, But rather a garden for ever in bloom and a flock of angels for ever in flight.
People of Orphalese, beauty is life when life unveils her holy face. But you are life and you are the veil. Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror. But you are eternity and you are the mirror.

Temperance

Temperance.

Tarot card number: 14
( 2x7 )
Sagittarius.

Temperance represents clarity; we need to travel through a series of stages in order for us to grow.

Temerance takes us to the art of alchemy.

This travel process enables us to reveal our true beauty.

Temperance encourages us to practice self-healing and brings opposites together in harmony.

Harmony, health, moderation, compromise, peace, self-control.

Temperance symbolises self-control, the ability to handle volatile factors and so bring about a positive result.

Temperance heralds a time of harmonious relationships, peace and harmony a time to be enjoyed.

Moderation is the key and spirituality brings comfort.

Temperance is an angel or guardian spirit watching over us.

Challenges of Temperance :

Impatience, lack of foresight, conflict, quarrels, domestic strife.
The challenge is not to over indulge, lack foresight, not be impatient . To avoid conflict and quarrels .
Temperance warns of making hasty decisions out of impatience, decisions that thwart progress.
refusal to learn from past mistakes

Feelings :

Drawing this card I feel peace and harmony , serenity.

I drew Temperance today at the GJM meeting. I like the rainbow , the silver and the gold ; the fluidity, emotions flowing between sun and moon, silver and gold, giving and receiving, being and doing, male and female, active and passive alchemy .

I enjoy the presence and support of the guardian angel holding and embracing everything. Self holding it all ? Synthesis represented by the rainbow.

In this state of mind I see all aspects of my personality objectively. It is a transpersonal state , I do not denounce or reject any single part but I am able to blend it effectively with the rest.
The angel is standing on "sacred ground", the third space , This is the place that is co- created between two people . This is the place where an angel is born; place of pure potentiality. This is where the seemingly disparate elements of the soul combine into a stable, whole persona.
Temperance assimilates the lessons of the past 13 cards so that one is ready to embark on the lessons of the next harmonic. Temperance, a figure of purification.

Temperance moves on angel wings , constantly moving ...E-MOTION

Temperance holds two cups in her hands, one a passive blue, the other an active red.

Water flows from one to the other, indicating energy transformation. Not a single drop is spilled or wasted.

Spiritual elevation, successful partnership, self-control, brilliance.

Angels see things from a higher perspective.

When you want something ..............

" The Soul of the World is nourished by people's happiness. And also by unhappiness, envy and jealousy. To realize one's destiny is a person's only obligation. All things are one. And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it."

Meditation with Crystals

Meditation is a time-honored technique that can take you into infinite dimensions of consciousness. It is a simple effort thatbecomes effortless as we do it more and more. One major principle to meditation is the ability to completely quiet your mind. Quieting themind comes as a result of meditating over a long period of time, but any time you are looking within, you are meditating.

Meditation helps us live a healthier, less stressful life. The physical and psychological benefits are wonderful and many peoplemeditate only for those reasons. The practice of meditation helps ustemporarily let the physical world go so that we can begin to seeourselves as we truly are -– spiritually enlightened beings.

Clusters of crystals bring a "group" energy to it's surrounding area. They are used to foster protection, cooperation, purification, harmony, friendship, intimacy and to break up negative energy in the environment. Place a crystal cluster in the middle of a meditation circle with other.

Individual stones can be used to bring a single intention to life.Choose a stone that "calls" to you or one, which has the metaphysicalproperties or the color you need.Meditate with your crystal: Place your crystal in your dominant hand or on the floor in front of you. Close your eyes and concentrate onthe color of your stone. Slowly try to vibe with the crystal'senergy. Remember: "Energy follows thought".The imagery of visualization is very powerful! As you breathe, you may inhale and exhale through the Chakra (energy centers) points. This will charge the Chakra and surrounding organs with vital energy.

Focusing on the breath is one of the most common and fundamentaltechniques for accessing the meditative state. Breath is a deep rhythm of the body that connects us intimately with the world aroundus.Place a piece of quartz in your hand. Allow yourself to feelthe "core" of the stone as it radiates it's energy. Feel the warmth.Close your eyes, breathe deeply and regularly, and observe your breath as it flows in and out of your body. Give your full attentionto the breath as it comes in, and full attention to the breath as it goes out. Whenever you find your attention wandering away from your breath, gently pull it back to the rising and falling of the breath.

Use the quartz to bring you back to your center. Inhale through your nose slowly and deeply, feeling the lower chest and abdomen inflatelike a balloon. Hold for five seconds. Exhale deeply, deflating thelower chest and abdomen like a balloon. Hold for five seconds. Do this three or four times, then allow your breathing to return to anormal rhythm. You will begin to feel a change come over your entirebody. Gradually you will become less aware of your breathing, but not captured in your stream of thoughts. You will become more centered inward. You will just "be there."

Accept - then act .

Q: The present moment is sometimes unacceptable, unpleasant, or awful.

A: It is as it is. Observe how the mind labels it and how this labelling process, this continuous sitting in judgement, creates pain and unhappiness. By watching the mechanics of the mind, you step out of its resistance patterns, and you can then allow the present moment to be. This will give you a taste of the state of inner freedom from external conditions, the state of true inner peace. Then see what happens, and take action if necessary or possible.

Accept - then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.

Always work with it, not against it. Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy. This will miraculously transform your whole life.

Limitations

I am limited only by my beliefs so I like to review my beliefs now and then.

"What do I believe right NOW ? "

The point of power is always in the now. Past is no more , the future is yet to be .. and yet it is all in the NOW.

"What do I believe right NOW ? "

I'm reading " Conversations with God " again .. and it's as if I am reading it for the first time. Another thought that I am mulling over is that we live in two worlds - Society and The Existential , the philosophical.

In Society there are rules , morals , right and wrong and in the Existential these do not apply.
Yet , we live in both worlds. How can we best live holding them both ?

Providence

The moment you definitely commit yourself to being a part of the power of intention, "then Providence moves too," and unforeseen assistance comes your way.

The right people will arrive to assist you in every aspect of your life: The people who will support you in your career are there; the people who will help you create your perfect home show up; the people who will arrange the finances for whatever you desire are available; the driver you need to get you to the airport is waiting for you; the designer you've admired wants to work with you; the dentist you need in an emergency when you're on vacation just happens to be there; and your spiritual soul mate finds you.

The list is endless, because we're all in relationship to each other, we all emanate from the same Source, and we all share the same divine energy of intention. There's no place that this universal mind is not; therefore, you share it with everyone you attract into your life.

Wayne Dyer

Attract Ideal People and Divine Relationships

It Is My Intention To:
Attract Ideal People and Divine Relationships.

The moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.....unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way."

----Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Sandstone (excerpt) -- Octavio Paz

Sandstone (excerpt) -- Octavio Paz: "door of being, dawn and wake me,
allow me to see the face of this day,
allow me to see the face of this night,
all communicates, all is transformed,
arch of blood, bridge of the pulse,
take me to the other side of this night,
where I am you, we are us,
the kingdom where pronouns are intertwined,

door of being: open your being
and wake, learn to be ....

I bless others' good fortune

I bless others' good fortune, and I know that there is plenty for all.

My consciousness determines my prosperity. The One Infinite Intelligence always says yes to me, and I say yes to all good. Reverend Ike, the well-known New York City evangelist, remembers walking by fine restaurants and lovely homes and fancy automobiles when he was a poor preacher, and saying out loud, "That's for me, that's for me." I rejoice out loud when I see abundance, and I mentally make room for it to come into my life. Being grateful for what I have helps to increase it. This also works with talents and abilities and good health. I recognize prosperity everywhere and rejoice in it!

Other people's prosperity mirrors my own abundance.

LIfe's many blessings

1. Slow down. You are not responsible for doing it all yourself, right now.

2. Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past. Rest there. Each moment has richness that takes a lifetime to savour.

3. Set your own pace. When someone is pushing you, it's OK to tell them they're pushing.

4. Take nothing for granted: watch water flow, the corn grow, the leaves blow, your neighbour mow.

5. Taste your food. Nature provides it to delight as well as to nourish.

6. Notice the sun and the moon as they rise and set. They are remarkable for their steady pattern of movement, not their speed.

7. Stop planning how you're going to use what you know, learn, or possess. Your gifts just are; be grateful and their purpose will be clear.

8. When you talk with someone, don't think about what you'll say next. Thoughts will spring up naturally if you let them.

9. Talk and play with children. It will bring out the unhurried little person inside you.

10. Create a place in your home, at your work, in your heart where you can go for quiet and recollection. You deserve it.

11. Allow yourself time to be lazy and unproductive. Rest isn't luxury; it's a necessity.

12. Listen to the wind blow. It carries a message of yesterday and tomorrow-and now. NOW counts.

13. Rest on your laurels. They bring comfort whatever their size, age, or condition.

14. Talk slower. Talk less. Don't talk. Communication isn't measured by words.

15. Give yourself permission to be late sometimes. Life is for living, not scheduling.

16. Listen to the song of a bird; the complete song. Music and nature are gifts, but only if you are willing to receive them.

17. Take time just to think. Action is good and necessary, but it's fruitful only if we muse, ponder, and mull.

18. Make time for play - the things you like to do. Whatever your age, your inner child needs re-creation.

19. Watch and listen to the night sky. It speaks.

20. Listen to the words you speak, especially in prayer.

21. Learn to stand back and let others take their turn as leaders. There will always be new opportunities for you to step out in front again.

22. Divide big jobs into little jobs.

23. When you find yourself rushing and anxious, stop. Ask yourself "WHY?" you are rushing and anxious. The reasons may improve your self-understanding.

24. Take time to read. Thoughtful reading is enriching reading.

25. Direct your life with purposeful choices, not with speed and efficiency. The best musician is one who plays with _expression and meaning, not the one who finishes first.

26. Take a day off alone; make a retreat. You can learn from monks and hermits without becoming one.

27. Pet a furry friend. You will give and get the gift of now.

28. Work with your hands. It frees the mind.

29. Take time to wonder. Without wonder, life is merely existence.

30. Sit in the dark. It will teach you to see and hear, taste and smell.

31. Once in a while, turn down the lights, the volume, the throttle, the invitations. Less really can be more.

32. Let go. Nothing is usually the hardest thing to do - but often it is the best.

33. Take a walk-but don't go anywhere. If you walk just to get somewhere, you sacrifice the walking.

34. Count your friends. If you have one, you are lucky. If you have more, you are blessed. Bless them in return!

Beauty

I find beauty in everything in my world.

Beauty is everywhere. Natural beauty shines forth from every little flower, from the patterns of reflected light on the surface of water, from the quiet strength of old trees. Nature thrills me; it renews and refreshes me. I find relaxation, enjoyment, and healing in the simplest things in life. As I look with love at nature, I find it easy to look with love at myself. I am part of nature; thus, I am beautiful in my own unique way. Where I look, I see beauty. Today I resonate with all the beauty in life.

Beauty arouses and heals me.

Louise Hay

All the barriers in my life are dissolving

I go beyond barriers to possibilities.

The gateways to wisdom and learning are always open, and more and more, I am choosing to walk through them. Barriers, blocks, obstacles, and problems are personal teachers giving me the opportunity to move out of the past and into the Totality of Possibilities. I love stretching my mind, thinking of the highest good imaginable. As my mind can conceive of more good, the barriers and blocks dissolve. My life becomes full of little miracles popping up out of the blue. And every now and then, I give myself permission to do absolutely nothing but sit and be open to Divine Wisdom. I am a student of life, and I love it.

All of the barriers in my life are dissolving.

Louise Hay

I am the author of my life

I am the main authority in my world.

No person, place, or thing has any power over me, for I am the only thinker in my mind. As a child, I accepted authority figures as gods. Now I am learning to take back my power and become my own authority figure. I accept myself as a powerful, responsible being. As I meditate every morning, I get in touch with my own inner wisdom. The school of life is deeply fulfilling as I come to know that we are all students and all teachers. We each have come to learn something and to teach something. As I listen to my thoughts, I gently guide my mind toward trusting my own Inner Wisdom. I grow and blossom and entrust all my affairs on Earth to the Divine Source. All is well.

I am the author of my life.

Louise Hay

Follow your bliss

"Our strongest wanting for you is that you lighten up.

In other words, spend more time looking for things to laugh about and play with.

Play your way through this.

It really is the key.

When you follow your bliss it is always an easy journey."

Abraham - - 9/4/93

I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be.

I believe in all -- Rilke

I believe in all -- Rilke

believe in all that has never yet been spoken.
I want to free what waits within me
so that what no one has dared to wish for

may for once spring clear
without my contriving.

If this is arrogant, God, forgive me,
but this is what I need to say.
May what I do flow from me like a river,
no forcing and no holding back,
the way it is with children.

Then in these swelling and ebbing currents,
these deepening tides moving out, returning,
I will sing you as no one ever has,

streaming through widening channels
into the open sea.

BLESSINGS

We Send You Our Blessings

I choose a serene way of life .

I choose a serene way of life.

If I want to live in a peaceful world, then it is up to me to make sure that I am a peaceful person. No matter how others behave, I keep peace in my heart. I declare peace in the midst of chaos or madness. I surround all difficult situations with peace and love. I send thoughts of peace to all troubled parts of the world. If I want the world to change for the better, then I need to change the way I see the world. I am now willing to see life in a very positive way. I know that peace begins with my own thoughts. As I choose peaceful thoughts, I am connected with like-minded, peaceful-thinking people. Together we will help bring peace and loving kindness to our world.Peace begins with me.

Summer Solstice 2006

How are we all doing ??

Here in the northern hemisphere we are in the middle of summer while our Aussie friends are in the middle of winter.

I spent the day with my soul sisters J&G. Our peer group meeting was at G's place. We'd all been longing to meet as several weeks had

whizzed by since our last meeting.

Our meeting lasted all day in the mos tbeautiful of surroundings .. it's always a treat to be at G&Js house which overlooks the Baltic sea and you can see the big ferries passing by .. it is soooo beautiful there.

J. came home and joined us for dinner of fresh salmon baked in the oven with leeks and new potatoes with lots of dill , then yummy chocolate cake with strawberries and icecream .. crisp white wine well chilled ..." Nottinghill "

At one point i was gazing out of the kitchen window onto lilacs and lots of green shrubbery and many lupins .. It was raining and everything looked so beautiful intensely GREEN and fresh through the haze of the gentle warm summer rain. There is such power and potency in nature right now.

SUMMER SOLSTICE yesterday !!! Longest day . Midsummer this weekend . I'm feeling a sort of urgency ....wanting to make the most of this .. passion .. a desire to say YES YES YES to everything. But HOW ???

" Passion emerges when your essence expresses itself." I read today .

In what situations have you experienced your life to the fullest?

and

How do you stop yourself from fully expressing who you are?
How do you ration your passion ???

LOVE LOVE LOVE to us all .. happy SOLSTICE and MIDSUMMER / MIDWINTER to us all.

More about Mara

Karma HalW's blog : Mara, Satan and Identity Theft

" Not all the travellers did this, but a lot did. So when they encountered stories of the Buddha being tempted by Mara - well you don't need to be a genius to see what happens next. 'Mara' is equated with 'Satan' - tempting and being behind all the pain and suffering. Let me suggest a radical re-interpretation.'Mara' itself has multiple identities. 'Mara' is the daemon holding the 'Wheel of Becoming' (also known as the wheel of life'). So Mara is a personification of Death or more accurately of Transience. And that is simply the way things are. Samsara is transience plus clinging. So Mara is holding the wheel of becoming. But Mara is also the highest god of the sensual realm. So Mara is also a personification of all the sense pleasures that make corporeal existence so desirable. When Mara famously sent his daughters to tempt the (historical)Buddha when he was on the point of liberation, this is very similar to the imagery and thinking behind the infamous 'Last Temptation' film. Sensual desire is a fact until you see through it. Denial is not seeing through it, and denial implies the thing to be denied. What the Buddha did at liberation was disolve the mirage - that is why he gained liberation. Mara is said to fight to hold all beings within his domain. Mara hates liberation. This is simply symbolism for the mighty hold of sensuality - and possibly that mighty hold is so strong that it has created a plane of existence in which entities such as Mara can existence independent of any individual human existence.Think about that for a moment. Mara is simply trying to keep people enjoying the world. It is not trying to drag people into Hell. Everyday transient existence is Mara's realm. Mara doesn't need to drag beings into an existence disfigured by old-age, disease and death - it is there all around us.

So it seems to me that the correct parallel is that Mara is the same personification as Yahweh. Yahweh is the jealous god, the one that brooks no other, the one that seeks to hold on to every soul.Seeing Mara directly literally means Death - it means coming face to face with the dissolution of your identity. Yahweh was also famously dangerous in that respect. So I put it to you that Mara does not represent some rebellious creation, but is the very essence of daily existence ('Samsara') - and only Yahweh permeates all of existence.
Mara = Yahweh. "

Tantra Book, Vigyan Bhairav Tantra, there's one sutra, "Enter the sound of your name and through this sound, all sounds", that talks about the science of mantra. Your name can be used as a mantra wich serve you a double purpose.

Mâra ( Latvian mythology )

Goddess of Birth and Death; Protector of Women and Children; Goddess of the Hearth; Goddess of Earth and Water

Mâra had a number of functions. Considering how complicated a deity she is, it seems likely that her many functions are the result of a syncretism of several deities (possibly including the Virgin Mary!).

She is strongly associated with childbirth; children are said to enter the world "through the gates of Mâra". She is the protector of women, especially mothers, and children. She is also the goddess of the hearth.

Mâra is also linked with death, and often takes the form of black animals such as ravens or black hens. Finally, she is also the goddess who was responsible for the land, the waters, and every living thing.

Mâra has several symbols attributed to her.
Mâra's Sign (Mâras Zîme) looks something like God's sign (which represents the sky, as a roof over the earth), but
Mâra's Sign is an inverted version.

Mâra's Cross (Mâras Krusts) is also called the Cross of Crosses (Krustu Krusta Raksts). This cross of crosses is composed of four crosses, and was often hewn into the sacrificial stones. It was said to have significant magical powers in ancient Latvian times. It was used from the Bronze and Iron Ages into historic times in Latvia.

Ancient Latvians believed that the goddess Mâra was the provider of bread and fire and through this belief, Mâra's Cross has also become the symbol of hearth and home.

Mâra's Wave (or Mâra's Zigzag) represents water, as Mâra is also the goddess of the rivers, lakes, and seas.

In modern Dievturiba, Mara is the highest-ranking goddess, a feminine Dievs. She may be thought as alternate side of God (Like in Yin Yang). Other goddesses, sometimes all other goddesses, are considered her alternate aspects. Mara may have been the same goddess as Lopu mate as well. She is the patroness of all the feminine duties (children, cattle), patroness of all the economic activities ("God made table, Mara - bread"), even money and markets. Being the alterante side of God, she takes away with her the body after person's death while God (Dievs) taking the soul. She is the goddess of land, it is called The Mara land. In western Latvia, and to a lesser degree in the rest of Latvia, she was strongly associated with Laima, and may have been considered the same deity. The festival Maras was held in her honor every August 15.Alternative: Marsava (Western Latvia), Moschel, Marha ---- The ogress who hags people when sleeping is also called Mara. People feel pressure on their chest, and some people report that they observed Mara laying on their chest sometimes choking their necks, and mostly accompanying with sleep paralysis. See also: incubus, succubus, Mara experience, Lucid dreaming, Kama ----- In the Bible, Naomi called herself Mara after she suffered the deaths of her husband and her two sons. -Ruth nn:mm ---- Mara was the nickname of career diplomat and former Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari. ----------------- In Buddhism Mara is the demon that tempted Gautama Buddha trying to seduce him with the vision of beautiful women with huge breasts and fragrant hips.

Moldavite is a green meteorite and is especially good for channelling healing energy. Moldavite helps us to communicate with our higher self and extra -terrestrials.

Moldavites are in the Tektite family. They are never found alone, but rather in a strewn field. Their size ranges from microscopic (.1mm) to the size of a football, weighing many kilos. Their shape can be spherical, oval, drop shaped, dumbell, elliptical, rod-like, spiral, etc. These are all shapes found in splash patterns of liquids.

On the Mohs scale of hardness they rate anywhere from a 6.5 to 7. Diamond is a 10 and common glass about a 5. The melting point of Moldavite is 1400 degrees, whereas glass is about 1100 degrees. They contain silica and various metallic oxides, including alumina, low amounts of iron oxides and potassium oxide. They have an extremely low water content. Moldavites often contain bubbles which have a rather high vacuum, equaling the air pressure at a height of around twenty kilometers.

It is theorized that Tektites were formed when a meteor collided with the Earth with such force that melted rock was thrown at high speeds into the upper atmosphere. It is believed that they are shaped during their flight passing through the atmosphere. This occurred about 15 million years ago.

Stone age man found and used these prized stones as tools and later they were valued as talismans. We are now able to enjoy collecting or wearing these meteoric stones either in their natural state or faceted into gemstones

In legend, Moldavite is associated with the fabled Stone of the Holy Grail, which was said to be an emerald that fell from the sky, out of the crown of an angel. Exposure to the Stone of the Grail was said to quicken one's spiritual evolution.

06-06-2006 The prayer of my heart.

A Prayer to Humankind A Poem of the Heart

HEAR, O HUMANKIND, the prayer of my heart. For are we not one, have we not one desire,to heal our Mother Earth and bind her wounds? And still to be free as the spotted Eagle climbingthe laughing breath of our Father Sky,to hear again from dark forests and flashing riversthe varied ever-changing Song of Creation?

O Humankind, are we not all brothers and sisters, are we not the grandchildren of the Great Mystery?Do we not all want to love and be loved, to workand to play, to sing and dance together? But we live with fear. Fear that is hate, fear that is ambition, competition, aggression, fear that is loneliness, anger, bitterness, cruelty, fear that is mistrust. envy. greed. vanity. . . and yet fear is only twisted love, love turned backupon itself, devouring itself, hating itself, love that was denied, love that was rejected . . .

andlove...Love is life - creation, seed and leafand blossom and fruit and seed, love is growthand search and reach and touch and dance, love is nurture and succor and feed and pleasure, love is pleasuring ourself, pleasuring each other, love is life believing in itself.

And life. . .Life is the Sacred Mystery singing to itself, dancingto its drum, telling tales, improvising, playingand we are all that Spirit, our stories allbut one cosmic story that we are loved indeed, that perfect love we seek we are already. That the love in me seeks the love in you,and if our eyes could ever meet without fear,we would recognize each other and rejoice, for love is life believing in itself.O Humankind, we must stop fearing life, fearing each other, we must absolutelystop hating ourself, resenting Creation

.... Life,O Humankind, life is the only treasure. We are the custodians of it, it is our sacred trust.Life is wondrous, awesome and holy, a burning glory, and its price is simply this: courage . . .we must be brave enough to love.Hear my heart's prayer,

O Humankind, trust in love, don't be afraid. I love youas I love life, I love myself, pleaselove me too, love yourself, for perfect love,as a wise one said, casts out all fear.If we are to live, there is no other choice, for love is life believing in itself.Above all,let us set the children free, break the trapsof fear that history has fashioned for them, free to grow, to seek and question, to dance and sing,to be dreamers of tomorrow's rainbows, and if we but give them our trust they will guide us to a New Creation, for love is life believing in itself.

Hear, O Humankind, the prayer of my heart.~Manitongquat

My notes from Piero Ferrucci talk

My notes from Piero Ferrucci talk , Thursday 25 May 2006
Turning difficulties into strengths
Our failures can help us learn and grow.
Our most painful situations can be seen as challenges.
Our weakest points can become sources of hope.
Some personal details

Piero referred to several stories in his talk :

The two vases
One beautiful , the other cracked and ugly. Used every day by owner to carry water from the well . The way is long and by the time he reaches destination the cracked vase is almost empty. This makes it feel useless and sad. The owner points out all the beautiful flowers growing alongside the path and tells the vase that without the leaks these flowers would not be there.

The bags of suffering
People always complaining to the Rabbi that their suffering is the worst, worse than other people’s suffering. One day the Rabbit tells them to out their suffering in a bag and hang it on the tree. The next day instructs them to choose another person’s suffering , since that is obviously better. They soon realize that they prefer their own suffering.

We make our own suffering. Attachment to suffering makes things worse. We are not troubled by things but by our opinion of things. Can we entertain another kind of thinking ? There is no good or bad. Facts are facts .
When there seems to be no way out .

Re- framing or re-naming , is a way to turn a problem into an advantage. When the Prussians ( ? ) invaded France they had to blow up a certain bridge .The French however changed the name of the bridge. This confused the Prussians, who did not want to blow up the wrong bridge and so it was saved.
In the same way we can reframe our problems
Being less fixed and rigid in our thinking helps.

Anther story of a Jewish man who finds his family really difficult to get on with. He complains to the Rabbit that he wants heaven , not hell . The Rabbi tells him to walk along the road until he reaches heaven and points out the road ."But how far ? " asks the man – " you’ll know " replies the Rabbi . " just keep on walking ". So he walks an walks until he gets tired and then stops at an inn to rest. Before getting in to bed he puts his shoes to point in the direction he was going. During the night the devil turns his shoes around . In the morning , the man thinks – odd – but continues on his way. The path becomes familiar .. and the man delights in this as he recognises one landmark after the other and feels happier and happier . Finally he recognises a house – just like his house .. finally heaven ! And so it is. He meets his wife and children in a new light.

Lucky people
Lucky people – born that way ? or can one learn to be lucky ?
There are 4 characteristics of lucky people
Lucky people are open and maximise their life experience
Lucky people go on their hunches.
Lucky people have faith that their dreams can be realised
Lucky people will see the positive in difficult situations.

Gratefulness
Live a healthier life - For a period of six months , write down 5 things a week that you liked .Write about what might have happened and didn’t.

Happiness and unhappiness can co- exist.
Janusian
thinking ( Janus with the two faces that look in two directions as the same time )
Creative people have creative thinking and hold both .
Have tolerance for ambiguity.
If we are open to contradiction more things can happen.
Pain is more unbearable when we try to resist. Go with the pain don’t resist.
Resistance creates more pain

Greek Myth of Chiron " The wounded healer "
– centaur , half man half god . Despite his immortality he was to end up dying. There was a fight bewteen Hercules and the centaurs. Chiron took no part in the fight but, was accidentally wounded by Hercules. As an immortal Chiron could not die but, lived in terrible pain. Chiron had tried to forget the human part then chose to trade his life for the release of Prometheus.Compassion developed him and allowed him to heal- became the compassionate teacher of healing.
him and allowed him to heal- became the compassionate teacher of healing.
Depression is denial of true Self- when we deny what we could be.
Joy that is mot experienced becomes depression.
Distortions of re-framing- important to listen and empathise then start thinking .
There is something very significant in pain
Your Self can be your best friend or worst enemy .
If we are open to our Higher Self we are happy
When we resist, suffering results.
" what is trying to emerge ? "
Techniques are secondary – RELATIONSHIP Is important.

R.A. " In the silence of the eternal I rest and regenerate myself "
Every part that we acknowledge tends to grow; the parts we ignore become smaller.
Study all the spectrum .

P.F. Met R. Assagioli in the sixties .
Assisted Assagioli with the writing of The Will

I found Piero Ferrucci’s talk very human , inspiring and beautiful full of simple truths and seeds for thought.

Clay in the life of a LIfe Artist

A snippet from my playful Expressive Art weekend: three days of playing, creating and self- expression together with six other " Life Artists ". Painting , directing , and " sculpting" multidimensional kinetic forms using fellow participants are all on the agenda .Finally ,working with clay and creating of a huge mandala painting together. The mandala is my height , painted on paper and gracing the only still empty white wall of my living room.

I've worked with clay before , but not quite like this. Anyway , Sunday morning found me sitting with a two pound slab of clay in my lap wondering what to do next.

" Make friends with it "" Talk to it. Listen to what it says "come the instructions.

It's the first time I've sat with a two pound lump of clay in my lap and I decide to jump in and give it my all involving the whole of my body in the shape - giving process. I decide too that this particular lump of clay will remain whole. First thing to do is to get this heavy lump of stuff into to a more manageable pliable state.

I've no idea of what it was going to be and I don't want to know either , just yet and I resist the urge to make it into something practical like a bowl or vase !!!
" trust the process "" allow "
come further instructions this time from my higher self as I sit there with my lump of clay , the parent creator responsible for breathing life into it, for birthing it. As in creating your life trusting is easier said than done. So I knead, I squeeze, I pull and pummel this lump of grey stuff. Bits of it fill my nails as they too dig in.Sweat starts to appear on my brow from the sheer effort of it all , the concentration and the focus, Then it starts to become malleable .. pliable ..bendy and formable .

First a container appears , then a chair or is it a throne but that disappears too and I know that that's not what is going to be .Next , the whole lump goes into a plastic bag and I knead it from the outside before taking out and inspecting the result . This is such fun !

Tiny cracks have appeared in its parched " skin ". It looks like an elephant's skin .
I add water .. smoothing surfaces . This is as sensuous a process as moving oil paint around on a canvas and soon the thing starts taking on a life of its own .A snake appears ....and compartments.. chambers.. rooms and more clay gets stuck under my finger nails but who cares .I'm hooked and creating , totally immersed , lost in the process of giving birth .... and then .. time is up. Voila ..... a work of art is born !

Hope

Hope

It hovers in dark cornersbefore the lights are turned on,
it shakes sleep from its eyesand drops from mushroom gills,
it explodes in the starry heads of dandelions turned sages,
it sticks to the wings of green angels that sail from the tops of maples.
It sprouts in each occluded eye of the many-eyed potato,
it lives in each earthworm segmentsurviving cruelty,
it is the motion that runs the tail of a dog,
it is the mouth that inflates the lungsof the child that has just been born.

It is the singular gift we cannot destroy in ourselves,

the argument that refutes death,
the genius that invents the future, all we know of God.
It is the serum which makes us swear not to betray one another;
it is in this poem, trying to speak. ~ Lisel Mueller ~

Cordless phones and health

Last year , I bought a cordless phone with a built- in answering machine. Great , I thought, convenient, no wires getting all tangled up. Recently my doctor and shrink , had me fill in a questionnaire and averted me to the dangers of cordless phones. He'd noticed that there was a connection between cordless phones and mental/ phsyical health. I slept on this question for 2 weeks before I finally unplugged my cordless phone.

Check this link :

My dilema now - what do I do with it ? Conscience doesn't allow me to sell it and these things need to be diposed of properly!

ON A DAY WHEN THE WIND IS PERFECT -- Rumi

ON A DAY WHEN THE WIND IS PERFECT -- Rumi

On a day when the wind is perfect, the sail just needs to open and the world is full of beauty.Today is such a day.

My eyes are like the sun that makes promises;the promise of lifethat it always keeps

each morning.

The living heart gives to us as does that luminous sphere, both caress the earth with greattenderness.

This is a breeze that can enter the soul. This love I know plays a drum. Arms move around me;who can contain their self before my beauty?

Peace is wonderful, but ecstatic dance is more fun, and less narcissistic; gregarious He makes our lips.

On a day when the wind is perfect, the sail just needs to openand the love starts.

Today is such a day.

Vipassana Meditation

Interesting.

The Buddhists monks at the Vihara taught me Vipassana meditation years ago and I've done weekend retreats observing the 5 precepts , but 10 days seems quite a challenge.
All who attend a Vipassana course must conscientiously undertake the following five precepts for the duration of the course:

1. to abstain from killing any living creature;
2. to abstain from stealing;
3. to abstain from all sexual activity;
4. to abstain from telling lies;
5. to abstain from all intoxicants.
Do I dare? Ten days. The process of self-purification by introspection is certainly never easy. The code of discipline at the centre is strict , but then rewards are great.

" Vipassana is a technique that will eradicate suffering.
It is an art of living that one can use to make positive contributions to society.
It is a method of mental purification which allows one to face life's tensions and problems in a calm, balanced way. "

Dhamma Dipa Vipassana Meditation Centre, UK

Poets

Poets are not those who write poetry,
but all those whose hearts are filled with the sacred spirit of Love.

What if death is like an orgasm ?

What if death is like an orgasm ?
The French call the orgasm " le petit mort " - the little death.
Apparently , the moment of orgasm can be intensified by holding the breath.
People have died while practising and experimenting with this technique.
There's a name for this ... can't remember it right now.
BREATH .. yet another common denominator in life and death.
Breathe life into something
Hold your breath and die.
Breathe in.... and be IN-SPIRED !

Autobiography of a Yogi

Autobiography of a Yogi
When Autobiography of a Yogi first appeared in 1946, it was acclaimed as a landmark work in its field. The New York Times hailed it as "a rare account." Newsweek pronounced it "fascinating." The San Francisco Chronicle declared, "Yogananda presents a convincing case for yoga, and those who 'came to scoff' may remain 'to pray.'" Today it is still one of the most widely read and respected books ever published on the wisdom of the East.

" A book that opens the windows of the mind and spirit ."

What inscription would you like on YOUR tombstone ?

Life and Death, can't have one without the other.

My tombstome inscription would say :

" To be continued ... this is just the beginning.
Emm has gone Home to reflect about what she has done , where she has been and whom she has been with. For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? Now that the earth has claimed my limbs I can truly dance. "

( With love and thanks to Kahlil Gibran for a few of his words.)

Death ? I'm looking forward to it knowing that being born is probably the hardest thing that I've ever done.

Still, while I am here , there's a lot of living to do , so much to experience, and so much to learn.

I do hope that when my time comes to leave, I can do it painlessly and gracefully.

Making a difference

I've been thinking about this all week .................

"The spiritual life is a call to action. But it is a call to ... action without any selfish attachment to the results."

Eknath Easwaran

Many of us feel deeply that we want to make a difference -- we want our lives to mean something in the bigger scheme of life. While this is a noble motive, we might want to explore what lies at its root.

Does the drive to make a difference arise from ego’s need to feel worthy? If my ego is not convinced that I matter, I may want visible proof that I do by making some kind of impact on life.

Soul doesn’t need proof that it’s worthy. Soul thrives in being awake and connected.

Perhaps if we let go of the pressure we feel from our ego’s need to be recognized, we will be more open and able to simply live soulfully. And by doing that, we WILL make a difference!

"A person’s worth is contingent upon who he is, not upon what he does, or how much he has. The worth of a person, or a thing, or an idea, is in being, not in doing, not in having." -- Alice Mary Hilton

What does it mean to "simply live soulfully " ?

EQUINOX 21 March 2006

The EQUINOX is a powerful time for manifesting dreams and visions and to accelerate synchronicity and intuition.

From the pyramids in Egypt and Mexico, to the stone circles in England, to the solar markers in the Native northwest, Equinox is time that was honoured as a powerful and transformative time.

On any given Equinox, we have an incredible opportunity to make a profound difference in our world.

Science is beginning to back these ancient truths with facts! What the mystics have known for eons, science in now confirming; thus bringing into the fold of LIGHT even the most adamant skeptic!

I bind unto myself today
The virtues of the star lit heaven,
The glorious sun's life giving ray,
The whiteness of the moon at even,
The flashing of the lightning free,
The whirling wind's tempestuous shocks,
The stable earth, the deep salt sea
Around the old eternal rocks.

Money issues

"What Are You Lacking?" "Money cannot fill an empty soul." -- Julia Cameron & Mark Bryan

Where in your life are you experiencing lack?
Are you experiencing a lack of self esteem?
Of humour? Of energy? Of love? Of money and abundance?

Whatever you believe you are missing, it is there to be claimed.
The first step starts with shifting your perspective.
See the glass as half full rather than half empty.
Focus on accepting what you DO have, and more will be attracted to you.
"Both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. It is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend... when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that’s present -- love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature and personal pursuits that bring us pleasure -- the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience Heaven on earth."

It's in the stars

Mercury’s retrograde period from March 2-25 will double the length of his transit through the spiritual realms of Pisces.

Practice thinking with your soul.

Notice subtle changes of perception.

Open yourself to new awareness.

Review progress toward your goals and make adjustments if needed.

Mercury rules communication and transportation. Before and during his retrograde period, it’s wise to take care of unfinished business, have your car and computer serviced, double-check on appointments and departure/arrival times, and be patient if things break down anyway.

Insights and Animal Spirit Readings

Happy Saturday !

My Saturday has started well. I woke up early today and recorded a couple of dreams I had last night. Followed this with a couple of large glasses of hot water , slice of lemon and meditation in the " blue room ".

So many messages from beyond have been flooding in and I'm itching to share. Are they for me? Are they for us all ? I am not sure .. I suspect they are for us all - since we are ONE.

JOY is on its way in now that the Pisces season is about to start. I've made a conscious choice to choose JOY this month and allow what needs to unfold to unfold in the spirit of JOY. This makes such a difference even if , at first , you have to " Fake it until you make it ."

" VISUALISE your highest and best " is another message that my guides and angels are whispering repeatedly. In glorious technicolour .. feel it.... be it ... accept it .. allow it ....be grateful for it ! Must send you a copy of " the manifestation process " that I received earlier this week .

I could go on an on , don't want to make this too long .. but here's a link that takes you to the wisdom of Spirit Animals and more . Lots of yummy readings for daily guidance

beliefnet: 'You Have Not Because You Ask Not' by Doreen Virtue Angels and Guides Pollychondritus:

"'You Have Not Because You Ask Not'
A powerful reminder from an Angelic Presence to ask for help.

By Doreen Virtue
This article was originally featured in 2000.

Excerpted from 'Angel Visions,' by Doreen Virtue, published by Hay House.

Last year, I was diagnosed with a rare chronic degenerative disease called pollychondritus, which attacks the cartilage surrounding all the major organs--heart, liver, and kidneys. My doctor told me that I would 'die a slow and painful death.' She said that I should get my affairs in order, and that I would be spending a lot of time in the hospital. She informed me that as the disease progressed, I would need surgery to repair any damage that occurred.
Needless to say, I was devastated! I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I told myself, It can't really be that bad, can it? The first thing I did when I got home was to look up this disease on the Internet. I read one woman's posting on a medical message board in horror, which told how she had the same disease and had gone through seven surgeries on her throat just so she could breathe! I couldn't bear to read any more, so I turned off my computer and started talking to God. What am I going to do, God? I need your help!

The next day, I was driving, with only 15 minutes to get across town to my next appointment. If I hurried, I just might make it on time. As I approached the major intersection, though, I felt a curious change. It was as if time had slowed down. I stopped at the red light when something caught my eye. I didn't know it at the time, but I was about to meet my angel. The first thing I noticed was her big black hat with big black feathers poking out of the side. Her hair was black........................................

SUCCESS IS ATTAINED ONE STEP AT A TIME

There is no sudden leap to greatness.
Your success lies in doing day by day.
Your upward reach will come from working well and carefully.
Good work done little by little becomes great work.
The house of success is built brick by brick.
Adopt the pace of nature.
The secret is patience.
A bottle fills drop by drop.

YES !

Happy Sunday , everyone

Do you doodle ?

How to draw Gratitude?

simple, easy, and wow! Now, go ahead...
take a few minutes to spin a bit of Gratitude.

as you enjoy the process
note how
mood, balance, flow and attention
Will effect how Gratitude appears.

So it IS in all matters.

***
Go Gratitude!

" Doodling allows the unconscious to render in symbolic _expression. Symbols have universal as well as personal meaning. When you are stuck for an answer to a problem or looking for creative innovation, the technique of doodling will unleash the hidden symbolic powers of the unconscious mind.

... Some people are prolific doodlers when they are talking on the telephone, sitting at a meeting, attending a lecture or sitting in any passive environment. This doodling can reveal important and profound information about how the person was feeling at the time, or, according to Jung, latent emotional conflicts or unexpressed feelings. In truth, no one can interpret our doodling except ourselves. Though certain symbols appear to have universal applications in the deep collective unconscious, how we experience these symbolic expressions in our own life is unique to each of us.

Your subconscious mind is attempting to contact you all the time. It is usually blocked by habitual conscious thought patterns or emotions. It can also be drowned out by the mundane mental trivia that we repeatedly hash over. Learn to allow its conscious _expression, preferably every day. "

Thank you for all sunny bright and uplifting thoughts

"Each difficult moment has the potential to open my eyes and open my heart." -- Myla Kabat-Zinn

“Even the most daring and accomplished people have undergone tremendous difficulty. In fact, the more successful they became, the more they attributed their success to the lessons learned during their most difficult times. Adversity is our teacher. When we view adversity as a guide towards greater inner growth, we will then learn to accept the wisdom our soul came into this life to learn.” -- Barbara Rose

“No matter what difficulty you are facing, it is coming from Divine Light to bring you to a higher place within. Write down every conceivable reason that this situation can contribute towards your growth. Write down every way this experience can possibly set the stage for serving to uplift others. When you are complete, and have come to the other side of this experience, you will then know 'why' it happened.” -- Barbara Rose

“The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one’s life.” -- Dalai Lama
