The Circle of Eternity Meditation
THE CIRCLE OF ETERNITY
Close your eyes and let the mind expand.
Let no fear of death or darkness arrest its course.
Allow the mind to merge with Mind.
Let it flow out upon the great curve of consciousness.
Let it soar on the wings of the great bird of duration,
Up to the very Circle of Eternity

The Electric Gypsy
I get a " Content Warning " when I visit Terry's blog, don't let that put you off. It is a beautiful and inspiring blog . In Terry's own words, from his blog :
" Inner-dimensional, Outer-dimensional, United Kingdom
- The ideas behind this blog are several fold. In one sense it’s a way for, friends, family and colleagues to follow my adventures off-grid which are essentially experiments in ‘sustainable’ living. On another level it’s a way for me to publish and write about ideas and concepts that are important to me now in my life. It’s also a way for me to offer, web- links, social-networks and useful resources to those interested in ‘off-grid’ living or alternative life-style choices. Finally, I think that this is also about wanting my individual friends, family and colleagues to see the diversity of both my established friendships and those new friendships which seem to grow daily. I suppose in more ways than one it’s also my way of using technology positively to widen the community circle for myself and others in my life. Thus, ‘the-circle-is-open-but-un-broken’. Please enjoy this blog. Check out the various web-links on the site by hovering over bold or high-lighted texts. Please report any broken links or unavailable resources so that I can mend or re-link them. Here’s my email address: electric-gypsy@fsmail.net "

What do you know for sure ?
HereSince the day the late Gene Siskel asked me, "What do you know for sure?" and I got all flustered and started stuttering and couldn't come up with an answer, I've never stopped asking myself that question. And every month I must find yet another answer. Some months I feel I hardly know a thing, and I'm always pressed to make the deadline for this column. This time around, in honor of our tribute to the subject, I looked back and came up with my all-time top 20:
1. What you put out comes back all the time, no matter what. (This is my creed.)
2. You define your own life. Don't let other people write your script.
3. Whatever someone did to you in the past has no power over the present. Only you give it power.
4. When people show you who they are, believe them the first time. (A lesson from Maya Angelou.)
5. Worrying is wasted time. Use the same energy for doing something about whatever worries you.
6. What you believe has more power than what you dream or wish or hope for. You become what you believe.
7. If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, that will be enough. (From the German theologian and humanist Meister Eckhart.)
8. The happiness you feel is in direct proportion to the love you give.
9. Failure is a signpost to turn you in another direction.
10. If you make a choice that goes against what everyone else thinks, the world will not fall apart.
11. Trust your instincts. Intuition doesn't lie.
12. Love yourself and then learn to extend that love to others in every encounter.
13. Let passion drive your profession.
14. Find a way to get paid for doing what you love. Then every paycheck will be a bonus.
15. Love doesn't hurt. It feels really good.
16. Every day brings a chance to start over.
17. Being a mother is the hardest job on earth. Women everywhere must declare it so.
18. Doubt means don't. Don't move. Don't answer. Don't rush forward.
19. When you don't know what to do, get still. The answer will come.
20. "Trouble don't last always." (A line from a Negro spiritual, which calls to mind another favorite: This, too, shall pass.)
So thanks, Gene, for asking me the question. The answer continues… are 20 things Oprah Winfrey knows for sure .
“I need my money to be safe”? is it true ?
I’ve never experienced a work or money problem that wasn't in fact a thinking problem.
Banks fail. Stock markets crash. Currencies deflate. We lie, bend contracts, and break our promises when we are frightened. In this confused, fearful, state of mind, you can make millions of dollars and still remain feraful, insecure and unhappy.
I used to believe that I needed more money to be happy and secure. Even when I had more than I really needed, I was often sick with the fear that something terrible would happen and I would lose what I had. I realize now that no amount of money is worth that kind of stress or can possibly be the cause of any stress. If you live with the uninvestigated thought “I need my money to be safe and secure,” you’re living in a hopeless state of mind, especially in these financially mind-challenging times.
You Need More Money - Is that True?
After I found that no stressful thought was true, I began to notice that I always had the perfect amount of money for me right now, even when I had little or none. Happiness is a clear mind.
A clear and sane mind knows how to live, how to work, what e-mails to send, what phone calls to make, and what to do to create what it wants without fear.
Who would you be without the thought “I need my money to be safe”? You might be a lot easier to be with. You might even begin to notice the laws of generosity, the laws of letting money go out fearlessly and come back fearlessly. I don’t ever need more money than I have, and I invite you to realize the same truth in your life. When you understand this, you begin to realize that you already have all the security you wanted money to give you in the first place. It’s a lot easier to make money from this position.
Those of us who chase after money to find happiness never think we have enough. And in the process we create stress for ourselves and for others around us, as we pass on our unquestioned fears. Sometimes we worry ourselves sick.
Those of us who see money as unspiritual have trouble charging for our services or feel guilty when we do make money. This is the flip side of greed, and it can be just as painful. What illusions we assign to pieces of paper!
Rich or poor, we believe the same stories over and over again. Is it time for you to end your suffering?

Blog Action Day- what is poverty ?
Blog Action Day - what is poverty?
by tylluanpenry @ Wednesday, 15. Oct, 2008 - 15:56:53I've been thinking long and hard about this ever since I agreed to do a blog for Blog Action Day. But what is poverty? It's easy to point to the cold, the starving and say 'This is poverty.' It's true.
But there are other types of poverty too, often found in the midst of wealthy nations, a type of poverty that has little to do with whether you are hungry, homeless or cold.
Poverty of conscience - we see this often enough lately, where nobody ever seems prepared to accept responsibility when something goes pear shaped.
Poverty of expectation - I think Oscar Wilde explained this one well when he wrote 'We are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.' Those in the gutter who are content merely to look at the ground suffer from this sort of poverty.
Poverty of hope - where we no longer even dare to believe that things could or should be better; it's a particularly nasty form of poverty because it prevents us helping ourselves or others.
Poverty of the mind - this is when we become obsessed with trivia and the cult of celebrity. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with either provided you get some sort of balance.
I'm sure anyone reading this will be able to come up with other, much better, examples. But it's a start, isn't it?
To define poverty purely in terms of money is to miss the point. Or as the Romans so elegantly put it:
Homo doctus in se semper divitias habet; a learned man always has riches within himself.
Today is BLOG ACTION day and the theme is POVERTY
It's easy to feel overwhelmed and do nothing.
Last night I decided to " sleep on it " and
this morning my mind is spinning with all sorts of thoughts.
What if there were no poverty?
Does poverty serve a purpose ?
Can you be rich and poor at the same time?
What if the rich gave all their money to the poor and the poor would be rich and rich would be poor ?
What IS poverty ?
What can I do ?
One thing that I have already done is to ask my higher self and world soul for guidance.
I also intend to donate this day to sharing my thoughts on the subject of poverty in order to raise awareness.

Thank you Father Sky and Mother Earth
Olivier Manitara shares this on Gratitude:
Stand in living nature, between the earth and the sky.
Feel the earth under your feet; feel how the earth carries
you and holds you up.
Feel the infinite sky above you; it inspires, straightens,
and elevates you.
In the sky, think of the origin of your spirit and
of your intelligence.
In the sky, think of the origin of your eternal soul, of the
higher universal consciousness.
In the earth, think of the origin of your terrestrial soul,
of your individual consciousness.
Feel yourself as a living union of the forces of the sky and
Kneel on the ground, and with your right hand, dig a little
hole in the earth.
Put your hands together in front of the centre of your chest
(mystical heart), in the sign of prayer and inner union with
heaven and earth within you.
In this sacred posture, let a beautiful light, a force, a
presence of the heaven flow through you: the omnipresence
of the Father of all living beings. You can imagine a diamond
light, transparent like pure water.
Bend down with love before Mother Earth, and place your
hands around the little hole. Bend down completely so that
your mouth is laid on your hands.
Offer then by your word the "thank you" of heaven to
Mother Earth; offer also the "thank you" of your heart, and,
through it, the "thank you" of the heart of humanity.

"Two years ago, I heard about a therapist in Hawaii who cured a complete ward of criminally insane patients--without ever seeing any of them. I AM THE I
OWAU NO KA "I"
"I" come forth from the void into light,
Pua mai au mai ka po iloko o ka malamalama,
"I" am the breath that nurtures life,
Owau no ka ha, ka mauli ola,
"I" am that emptiness, that hollowness beyond all consciousness,
Owau no ka poho, ke ka'ele mawaho a'e o no ike apau.
The "I", the Id, the All.
Ka I, Ke Kino Iho, na Mea Apau.
"I" draw my bow of rainbows across the waters,
Ka a'e au i ku'u pi'o o na anuenue mawaho a'e o na kai a pau,
The continuum of minds with matters.
Ka ho'omaumau o na mana'o ame na mea a pau.
"I" am the incoming and outgoing of breath,
Owau no ka "Ho", a me ka "Ha"
The invisible, untouchable breeze,

The undefinable atom of creation.
Ka "Hua" huna o Kumulipo.
"I" am the "I".

Manifesting for the highest good of all
My focus these past two weeks has been on manifesting what I want and what I need.
There are specific things and some general ones.
I am aware that it is important to have goals - specific goals, but paradoxically I want also be open to what life brings me.
Therefore I intend to be open to everything and anything.
I intend to allow the Light of my soul to move me in the direction I really need to go.
That direction may not be exactly what I expect, but in the long run, it's certain to be indefinitely better.
Today, I intend to allow for any and all solutions to my needs - even solutions I could not have anticipated.
I realise I can't do everything on my own.
I understand that everything that comes into my life is helping me , provided I see these events as opportunities rather than obstacles.
This , or better, I intend for the highest good of all.
A note on change.
Everything changes.
Nothing stays the same.
What goes up goes down and back up again.
The sun sets to rise again the next day.
Everything is constantly changing.
Change does not have to be bad.
Change can be good.
Change happens whether I approve of it or not.
are leading to a better life for all.
When I change , everything around me has no option but to change in relationship with me.
I intend go with the flow and to change for the better.
I am willing to change in order to honour what truly matters.
What matters to me is love, beauty, honesty , friendship, integrity and relationship with all that is.
I intend to stay in a central space of peace and harmony in the midst of change,
knowing that only good will come of this.
I intend to be the peace and harmony I wish to see in the world.

Anthem
The birds they sang
at the break of day
Start again
I heard them say
Don't dwell on what
has passed away
or what is yet to be.
Ah the wars they will
be fought again
The holy dove
She will be caught again
bought and sold
and bought again
the dove is never free.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
We asked for signs
the signs were sent:
the birth betrayed
the marriage spent
Yeah the widowhood
of every government --
signs for all to see.
I can't run no more
with that lawless crowd
while the killers in high places
say their prayers out loud.
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
a thundercloud
and they're going to hear from me.
Ring the bells that still can ring ...
You can add up the parts
but you won't have the sum
You can strike up the march,
there is no drum
Every heart, every heart
to love will come
but like a refugee.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
That's how the light gets in.
That's how the light gets in.

From Thought to Action
This is from the kabbalah centre (5-11 October)
Ten Days of Repentance. This is what the Kabbalists term the time we are now in. They are the days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (beginning this Wednesday night.)
Now it's test time!
Whatever it is we asked for - and worked on during the month of Virgo and the holiday of Rosh Hashanah - we are now proving that we really want to live it.
Bottom line: what are you willing to do to receive the Light you want?
If you want to make more money, then are you willing to donate some of what you already have to charities and those in greater need?
If you want to have a closer connection to the Creator, then are you willing to start sharing (or sharing more) in your community?
If you're looking for love, then are you willing to be more vulnerable and intimate? Are you willing to open your heart up to the people who want to know you better?
We've got to be willing to do something this week. Something tangible.
For those of you who don't live near a Kabbalah Centre and won't be able to attend a local Yom Kippur connection, this is an amazing way to tap into the cosmic window that will open Wednesday night and close the following evening.
Think about what you are willing to do this week to invite the energy of change into your life.
And then do it!
All the best,
Yehuda

How to stay young
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Gratitude
- I agree that a world of Love and Gratitude begins with me. I choose to be a conscious mirror and model of the change I wish to see in the world.
- I agree to consciously set an intention for manifesting something miraculous in my life throughout this process.
- I agree to tap into Gratitude on a daily basis and as much as possible in every waking moment. I know that the rewards of doing so flow through and extend beyond me, strengthening the collective field of Gratitude from which we may all derive benefit.
- I agree to be a consistently uplifting inspiration in all my interactions in World Gratitude. I commit to see and mirror back the greatness of each soul who crosses my path. I choose to discover and nurture the light within so that it may shine forth to others and magnify their life.
- I agree to honour each individual's right to choose their own belief system and life path.
- I agree to be open to both give and receive within this community. In all my dealings, I seek win-win, mutually edifying interactions and transactions.
- I agree to be my word in my exchanges with others. I realize that my personal influence is magnified to the degree I am able to keep my word with myself and others. If something comes up and I decide to change what I had agreed upon, then I agree to make that communication as soon as possible to the affected party.
- I agree to love and enjoy my life as much as possible!
- And, last but certainly not least, I agree to be Grateful for ME!
The way out of this financial crisis
The way out of this financial crisis is for Americans to regain more inner wealth. How is that done?
-- Reject fear and pessimism.
-- Know what your vision is and act upon it.
-- Don't blame others and seek payback when things go wrong.
-- Prosper inwardly through love, generosity, giving, and altruism.
-- Stop identifying with your salary and possessions.
-- Work for the common good whenever you can.

We live in amazing times.
We live in amazing times.
We can build big buildings.
Invent the internet.
Send people walking across the moon.
Create fancy iphones.
Keep breasts young forever.
Manufacture vitamins to give you energy.
Formulate Viagra to keep it up.
Create drugs to combat depression to keep it Down.
We build bombs to wipe out millions in a second.
Launch 500 channels on the flat screen.
Create complex car navigation systems.
Invent new weight-loss programs.
Yet we still live in a world where children are starving!
millions are homeless.
We don't teach kids how to communicate.
We have lots of sex but don't make love.
Bigger banks accounts, but less fulfillment.
Faster cars but no time.
More options but less patience.
More education and less sense.
More technology and less touch.
You can clean the air.
But the pollution is in the soul.
This is the real hole
The most important resource, isn't time, oil, money, gold.
It is love.
Without this we may have everything but
life is nothing.
So what is your life about?
So what is your life about?
You can travel the world. Go to great temples, or churches to pray. You can worship the most beautiful statutes, and read the most profound scripture, yet right in front of you is a living expression of divinity.
Take a look: Your children. Your spouse. Your parents. Your brother Co-worker. The homeless person. Your friend. There is no end.
Yet we wait to meet the Dalai Lama, the great Guru or the Pope. For some kind of hope. Waiting for the right moment or special person. When right here in front of you is a living Buddha in the form of your child, or a living Christ in the form of the man that's staring at you.
The whole world is your temple, synagogue, or church.
Remember, it is in your heart. This is where we must all start. In each moment is the opportunity.
At least once a day: Forgive. Reach out. Hug. Cry. Laugh. Connect.
At least once a day:
Trust. look. Sing. Dance. Make a fool of yourself. Risk.
At least once a day:
Give. Touch. Taste. Smile. Wait. Communicate.
At least once a day:
Smell. Relax. Joke. Feel. Yes. Serve.
And most of all say "I love you."
When you dare to open your heart and love, you're free. This is living infinity.
Is there really anything else to do?
Is there really anything else to do?
Love now.

The Power of Mantras
Everything is possible and mantras really do workb
A.k.a. ‘With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine'by Mystic Goddessa
‘No one can fully explain the mystery of Mantras. Their magical sounds help heal physical imbalances, relax the mind, quiet the emotions and open the heart. They stimulate, activate, motivate and rejuvenate. They help you dance or sleep, laugh or cry, make love or meditate. They help you forget some one or find some one.’ Henry Marshall
It’s important to commit to chanting your mantra 108 times every day for 40 days. This locks in the vibration of the mantra and ensures powerful results. Note that if you skip a day, it’s important to start from the beginning again, so that you achieve 40 uninterrupted days.
