Common Sense

This is an important message for us all HUMANbeings. We need to remember how to use our common sense and to be our own leaders.

This is Oren Lyons . I heard him speak in Stockholm 10 years ago. He represented a movement called The Green Cross. Oren Lyons (b.1930) Oren R. Lyons is a traditional Faithkeeper of the turtle Clan and a proud and accomplished Native American who works tirelessly towards the issues concerning Indigenous peoples in the United States and the world. He is a member of the Seneca Nation and of the Six Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy, (Haudenosaunee) consisting of Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, Mohawk and the Tuscarora Indian reservations in northern New York state. Among his accolades he has received the Ellis Island Congressional Medal of Honor, the National Audubon Award, the First Annual Earth Day International Award of the United Nations, and the Elder and Wiser Award of the Rosa Parks Institute for Human Rights.

He is deeply involved with national and international issues that affect native peoples and has represented them in many forums throughout the world, including several at the UN focusing on the rights and status of indigenous peoples, the environment and sustainable development.

i like how your content always reminds me to think outside my own little microcosm...btw interesting "skull?" collection...

I'm aiming to read some Eckhart Tolle and Khalil Gibran over my summer holidays (no mean feat because I only read average 2 non study related books per year!)- I'll tell you what I think when I'm done...

I'm in Sydney- I suspect the city is quite similar to LA/California culturally...

Oh lucky you heading towards summer. Same world yet while you are in summer we ( here in Stockholm) are in winter.

Thank you for your comment.I never know what will appear on this page until I have posted. I am so happy to hear that it resonates with you.

I think microcosm and macrocosm are one part of the whole and we need to hold both.

I am sure you will enjoy Eckhart Tolle and Kahlil Gibran - I would really like to hear what you think.

The heads are by my son, Alexander Aivars- they have always fascinated me. I was suddenly inspired to use them for the header of " The Art of Being Human ".
